Paragon™ Stem
Fixation, restoration, reproducibility
Read More
Paragon is a cementless, bi-planar wedge stem which has added advantageous features to the design to improve upon similar wedge stems on the market. The evolutionary Paragon stem answers the short comings of modern hip replacement.
A key and patented original feature is the incorporation of tension grooves on the lateral aspect of the stem which were designed to reproduce native physiological bone strain to enhance the quality of stem fixation.
The Paragon Stem length is shorter than some of the other bi-planar wedge designs currently on the market.
The stem and broaches have a polished distal medalised offset tip, intended to decrease the risk of lateral cortex interference.
The Paragon™ stem is designed to provide primary stability through its rectangular transverse geometry and its circumferential vertical grooves for enhanced rotational stability.
Secondary fixation is promoted through the stem's porous coating of hydroxyapatite (PCHA), developed to resist potential of stem subsidence and loosening1.
