Dr Simon Elix is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee and hip surgery, with further interest in anatomic ACL reconstructions and multi-ligament knee surgery.
Dr Elix is a member of the AOA, RACS, the QLD Shoulder Society and is on the St Stephens Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Elix employs the OMNIBotics® system, incorporating the BalanceBot™ with the Apex Knee™, to enhance the precision and outcome of total knee replacement. He is a strong advocate for enhanced recovery joint replacement, with some of his total knee patients able to walk from the operating table to recovery. During a visit, he can guide you through an OMNIBotics case using Predictive Balance technology and explain his learning curve and the advantages of this system.
Dr Elix utilises OPSInsight™ and Patient-Specific Instrumentation (PSI) in total hip replacement surgery via a mini-posterior approach.
